GRANDMARAMA PROJECTS

Club Grandmarama is more than a project—it’s a celebration of the world’s most powerful unsung heroes: grandmothers. What started with a children’s picture book has grown into a movement, complete with Get Real About Grandmas (true stories from real-life grandmas), an upcoming video game, an animated film, a podcast, and even GrandmaCon—a gathering where famous grandmas and everyday grandmothers come together to laugh, learn, and share their stories of challenge and joy. From bedtime tales to bold adventures, Club Grandmarama shines a light on the wit, wisdom, and wonder of grandmothers everywhere.

GRANDMARAMA
PICTURE BOOK

In this heartwarming and whimsical tale, author Jennifer Barrette introduces young readers to the world's first Grandma Superhero. But will Grandmarama's superpowers be enough to help her rescue all of the other grandmothers who have been taken away from their families? And can she solve the mystery of who is behind their disappearances? Join Grandmarama on her exciting globe-trotting adventure to find out.

With the help of Argentinian Illustrator, Fer Peralta, Jennifer was able to bring the Grandmarama picture book to life with his beautiful illustrations which were placed on Jennifer's background art. Fer's work and professionalism have led him to complete projects and publish books for clients in various countries, including the United States, Canada, Spain, and England. Fer's work has also been exhibited in museums and galleries in Argentina.

GET REAL ABOUT GRANDMAS

Introduction to

get real about grandnmas

Real Stories, Real Wisdom, Real Grandmas

Am I a grandma? No. Not yet, at least. But here’s the thing—I’ve been orbiting (and admiring) grandmothers my whole life, and their fingerprints are all over who I am. I’m the only granddaughter on my paternal side, and I just so happened to be born on that particular grandmother’s birthday (a cosmic connection if ever there was one). Many years later, my maternal grandmother passed away on that same day, my 42nd Birthday. If that doesn’t scream grandma destiny, I don’t know what does. And truth be told, if you drop me at a family gathering (and this doesn’t have to be MY family gather... anyone’s family gathering) I guarantee that I’ll end up at the kitchen table with the grandmas, soaking up stories about the past, the present, and everything in between. To me, they’re always the most interesting people in the room. The older, the better stories they have to tell!

My mom is now an amazing grandma herself, carrying on the love with her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Somehow, she is still the queen of multitasking between baking pies and FaceTiming the faraway Grands. Like most of us, our grandmothers live-on not just in memories, but in the quirks and traditions stitched into our family trees. My eldest daughter was born with the same bright blue eyes and fiery red hair my grandmother once had. And then there’s the cake—the legendary orange whipped cream cake recipe passed down like treasure. One bite and it feels like my grandma has pulled up a chair at the table.

These are the reasons I created CLUB GRANDMARAMA—to start a movement that celebrates the women who knit families together, stir up soup pots (and occasionally drama), and remind us that “back in their day” everything was harder… and somehow better. This book grew out of that mission. Inside, you’ll find stories—some from my family, some from friends, and many from people I don’t even know, who’ve shared their own Grandma tales with me throughout the years. Stories of grandmas who raised children that weren’t their own, grandmas who climbed actual mountains, grandmas whose ravioli could easily win international peace treaties, and grandmas who can still bring down the dance floor at a wedding.

So roll up your sleeves, pour yourself some tea (or a generous glass of wine—grandmas always approve), and let’s get real about the importance of grandmothers. They are, without question, the unsung superheroes of our lives.

Grandmarama
THE MOVEMENT

The Club Grandmarama Movement, Podcast, and social media drops are on a mission to capture the wit, wisdom, and wonder of grandmothers everywhere. From kitchen tables to mountaintops, we’ll travel the world interviewing grandmas who have lived, loved, and done extraordinary things. Each episode passes on their inspiring stories—part laughter, part legacy—so future generations can learn from the grandmas who came before us.

Grandmarama Film & Game

Grandmarama is coming to life beyond the page! The animated film will follow the adventures of the world’s first grandma superhero—a tough, witty, and big-hearted grandmother who discovers her powers and sets out to rescue missing grandmas everywhere. Alongside the film, a video game is in development, inviting players to step into Grandmarama’s shoes, battle villains, and unlock the secret superpowers only a grandma could have. Together, these projects bring humor, heart, and heroics to a whole new generation.
